If the Holy Bible says that Christians can be sinless and perfect, why do millions of preachers speak against being sinless and perfect? Think about that.
You see, if Christians believe that we can be sinless and perfect, then the obvious question become why aren’t we? So, the tendency is to say that we can’t.
However, that creates a problem, because Christians cannot receive what they do not believe (James 1:5-7), and just by speaking against the faith, we can fall away from the faith (1 Timothy 6:20-21).
So, not only will most Christians never accomplish it, but they cannot even see it. In other words, they have no idea that their own Bible says that we can be sinless and perfect.
So that would mean that every Christian that has been deceived into speaking against 1 John 5:18 (below) clearly written in their own Bible, would never be able to obtain it, and they would be totally shocked to know that it was written. Read the verse for yourself.
1 John 5:18-19
We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. 19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. NKJV
Think about the millions and millions of Christians who have been deceived into thinking that they are “born of God” and yet they continue in sin and are under the sway of the devil. Let’s check another verse.
Romans 8:9
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. NKJV
Can we be in the flesh if the Spirit of God is living in us according to the verse? Think about how many preachers say that God told them this or that and yet they speak in total opposition to the Word of God when it comes to sin. Are they sure that it is God who is telling them things or could it be a deceiving spirit in keeping with 1 Timothy 4:1-2 (below)?

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, NKJV
Why would any preacher preach the exact opposite of 1 John 3:6-9 if he were preaching for God? I think that’s a very good question.

Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. NKJV
I can’t find one preacher anywhere that doesn’t preach in opposition to the passage above. No, not one. That scary to me, but the first question that any of them bring up when questioned about these verses is “Did you sin today?” “Do you sin?” “Haven’t you sinned?”
If what we are supposed to be preaching was based on my accomplishments, then I’m sure we would all be dead by now. I’m convinced that God did not save me because I was anywhere close to being the best church goer in my town, but I believe every Word of God regardless if I have accomplished it or not. I still believe, and I still strive to be what God has called me to be (Luke 13:24).
Therefore, even if I never accomplish being sinless or perfect, trust God.

Praise God Brother. I preach very little about my life (John 7:18), but the hard working farmer should be the first to partake of the crops (2 Timothy 2:6). So, Lord willing see you there.

Gods word is clear that I can receive grace to overcome all sin I see in me!
Thank you sir! I will be teaching at a men’s group on this very subject . There was a man teaching that it is impossible to stop sinning recently .. No Never Jesus said ” be ye perfect even as your Father in heaven is perfect” I believe just exactly as you have taught here.
Praise God Brother. Regardless of what you hear man preach, trust Jesus Christ. According to Jesus, we can and should stop sinniing, or we will end up in the fire (Matthew 5:29-30, Matthew 18:8-9).

Agree (God doesn’t command the impossible). Remember, though, that righteous works don’t cleanse the guilt and deserved punishment of past sins.

Haven’t you noticed that there are many good preachers (e.g., David Pawson) with biblical views on the passage?
I am getting the impression that you are arguing that for a Christian to be saved, they have to never commit another sin. To that idea, I would strongly disagree, but otherwise, I would agree.
I don’t know David Pawson, and no I haven’t noticed that there are many good preachers out there. I can’t find any that preach every Word of God. If you can find one that preaches John 15:4-6, then just send the sermon, so that I can watch it. I don’t think there are any left who haven’t rejected the doctrine of Jesus Christ, but if you think so, please just send the sermon.
Alan, Paul was a mature man of God who wrote two-thirds of the New Testament! He never implied that he reached sinessness! He wrote this: Rom. 7: 14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does 14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. Brother Bob. The Apostle Paul did keep the faith, and finish the race, as he mentioned in 2 Timothy 4:7-8. If you do not believe those scriptures, then they will never remain in you according to Luke 8:11-12, and so you will always speak against them. Besides that, Romans 7 is not to be used as an excuse, but a method to identify the problem, if the good we want to do, we can’t do, then sin is still “controlling us” (Romans 7:20); meaning we are not set free from sin yet. Why would sin still be controlling us? According to the Apostle Paul in Romans 6:17-18, sin will control us if we do not obey the doctrine from the heart, and allow ourselves to become slaves of righteousness. You obviously don’t believe Romans 6:17-18, because you speak against it. So, you would need to renew your mind with those scriptures first, before they will remain in you. According to Jesus Christ, we will be a slave to sin, because we are not abiding in the Word until we know the truth, and the truth makes us free from being a slave to sin, or servant of sin (John 8:31-35). There are at least ten methods like these clearly written in scripture that every Christian should be using in order to be set free from sin’s control, but you will never be able to see those scriptures if you continue to speak against them, like so many millions of Christians today, who have been deceived. I don’t have time to mention them here, but I have a video called “Ten Methods to control sin.” It’s on my you tube channel, but I don’t know if it is on this site yet, but I will try and get it on this site within a few days. If can help you, I will, but you are going to have to believe the scriptures I send you, and be determined not to speak against them. There is no way possible to believe unto righteousness in the heart the things that we speak against (Romans 10:10), and all unbelievers will be condemned (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12, Mark 16:16). Brother Bob, that video is on the “Can We Stop Sinning” page of this site, and it’s called “Ten Processes to control sin.” Please write those scriptures down, and start reading them out loud every day until they remain on the inside of you. You don’t have to concern yourself with anything else I say in the video, but write the scriptures I mention down, and then get them from your version of the Bible, and read them out loud every day. This is what I would do, if I were you. Take care

Do you know anyone who has accomplished this? I do believe it is possible. And this is perhaps taught more in other countries and cultures but much less in the Western cultures. The early Quakers believed that it was not only possible but necessary but that it is only by Gods power and Spirit and our constant yielding and willingness. I have visited this website multiple times over the years. God wouldn’t tell us to be holy or blameless and spotless, a bride without spot or wrinkle, if it weren’t possible. And holiness is not a name it or claim it thing where God refused to see sin in us. No, we must be molded and purified and conformed to Christ.
I know it’s possible because it is written, and I am a believer. The Apostle Paul accomplished it, and I’m sure Timothy accomplished it as well.
