MANY SINS, ONE SOLUTION
Contrary to popular belief, there is not a different set of instructions in the Bible for alcoholics, drug addicts, sex offenders, homosexuals, compulsive liars, and the like. The same set of instructions work for any type sin. Let that sink into your brain. We stumble because we disobey the message (1 Peter 2:8), and not because we are given over to this type of sin, or that type.
Our bodies are controlled spiritually (Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 6:16-18). Therefore, our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual powers of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). You may not understand these things now, but know that you will never be completely set free from sin if you never obey the message found in your Bible (Romans 6:17-18), which includes an explanation of how sin works, and how it controls us.
Romans 6:17-18
17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. NKJV
God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, which means that we don’t know something that we should know (Hosea 4:6), and not because the devil is our adversary. God has no problem whatsoever with protecting us from the devil (2 Thessalonians 3:3), but it is our sins that give us over.
1 John 5:18
18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. NKJV
Most of the time, we focus on the particular sins that we commit, but there is not any difference in the outcome of sins that lead to death. For example, there is no difference in the spiritual direction of an alcoholic and a slanderer. Both of them are headed for the fire of hell if they do not turn, as well as all who practice sins that lead to death.
Therefore, what would it matter in the end if the spirit that is controlling a person and making him disobey, switched from drugs to adultery? The destruction in their life might be less obvious to people around them for now, and they may even have a sense of accomplishment being free from drugs, but hell will be just as hot.
Jesus came to destroy the devil’s work in us, and not just to forgive us of our sins so that we can continue in it (verse 8 below). Let that sink in. Just as much as Jesus came that we could be saved, He also came to destroy the devil’s work in us (verse 8 below).
Read the following passage of scripture out loud, and decide today if you just want to stop one particular sin in your life, or if you want to be set free from sin, as all those who are born of God should be.
1 John 3:7-10
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. NKJV
My question for you today is do you want to be set free from sin, as all born again believers should be according to verse 9 above, or do you just want to get a particular sin under control enough to where you can fit in with society like most christians today?
Don’t let that shock you, because according to Luke 13:22-28, out of all the people “who seek to enter the Kingdom of God,” most will not be able to because they took the wrong path; the path that seemed right to them (Proverbs 16:25). Check the verses in your Bible and believe them.
Some sins are obvious, and some, which are just as deadly, are not obvious (1 Timothy 5:24). For example, it would not be any better spiritually to be delivered from drugs, just to remain a liar, or a slanderer, since neither of them inherit the Kingdom of God in the end (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, Ephesians 5:3-7).
Drug treatment places certainly help people get off drugs, but are there any that help people be set free from sin in accordance with scripture? I seriously doubt it.
It is my opinion that having an obvious sin problem is better than having one that is not obvious, since in the least people will try to correct the problem, but there is no hope for those who willfully continue in sin that leads to death, obvious or not (Hebrews 10:26). For example, according to the following verse, will any liar make it?
Revelation 21:8
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” NKJV
As you can see, there is little difference between the eternal future of a liar, and the sexually immoral. However, many who are sexually immoral try and find solutions for their problem, but liars can make it all the way to the top of huge companies. So why change? The ability to lie with a straight face is very valuable in the business world today. None of them will make it into Heaven unless they repent.
An unbeliever is in the same boat as an idolater; those who worship anything more than God (Revelation 21:8, above). So, what would be the difference if someone became a believer, but they continued to worship the christmas tree, and the easter bunny, and the scare crow above God like the people of this world? Would 1 John 2:15, and James 4:4 below be void?
1 John 2:15
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. NKJV
James 4:4
4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. NKJV
Again, my question to you is do you want to be set free from sin, or just control whatever it is that is presently not allowing you to fit in with this world? Many of us need help today, but because we do not know the truth, and because our sins are socially acceptable even in the church, we don’t realize that we have a problem.
There are many people in the church today trying to lead those who practice obvious sins that lead to death, all the while being given over to sins that lead to death that are not obvious themselves (2 Peter 2:19). Imagine that.
God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, and not because we don’t go to church (Hosea 4:6). We are destroyed because we do not abide in the Word of God (John 8:31-37), and most of us are not taking the time to learn it. What we don’t know about sin can kill us (James 1:15).
Therefore, I’m not in the business of helping people get off drugs, alcohol, but I’m in the business saving souls (James 5:19-20, below). I help believers to be set free from sin’s control. Deliverance from drugs, and alcohol and every other sin that leads to death is simply a by-product of that. I rarely focus on a particular sin, because the Bible based solution that I will show you, works for any sin.
James 5:19-20
19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. NKJV
Praise God, I have seen many people delivered from crack, and alcohol in a few days by following this process, but just as soon as some of them stopped following the instructions, they hit destruction again. Why? It’s because this is not a “get off drugs, and alcohol enough to cope with life” program, but a calling to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:1-4).
Shortly after leaving the path that God has called us to walk, we will meet destruction. Some call it relapse, or a setback, but I call it “time to get back on the right path ASAP!”
Proverbs 15:9-10
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But He loves him who follows righteousness. 10 Harsh discipline is for him who forsakes the way, And he who hates correction will die. NKJV
Christians on drugs don’t need a drug program, but they need the same solution that liars need. Now that they are saved, they need to know what to do next in accordance with God’s instructions found in God’s Word, which includes information on how sin works, so that they will not be a slave to sin their entire life.
So, you decide what you want to do. The Lord has allowed me to work with believers from all over the world, free of charge. Praise God. However, there is no hope for unbelievers.
If you are seeking to be set free from sin, then Lord willing I can help you. However, if you’re just interested in switching from one sin that leads to death to the next sin that leads to death, then please seek help from a man-made method. There are millions of people teaching man-made methods, even inside churches today. So, it shouldn’t be too hard to find. Besides, my fee for people who do not believe the Bible is $300 an hour.
Farewell.
