Learn How To Stop Sinning

Start here and learn how to stop sinning according to what is written in the Holy Bible! This is the home page. I’m Alan Ballou. If you have a question, just ask and I will answer you according to the scriptures. We gladly help those who believe the Word of God.

Stopping sin starts with believing God

This site is for Bible believing Christians from any denomination. I only ask that you believe the verses that I will show you in your heart, because in the end that will be a huge problem for those who don’t. Get your Bible out and let’s get started!

God believes that His Word is all that is needed to turn His people from evil (Jeremiah 23:22). Will you believe God?

If you do not believe that God is able to do what He has promised, you will never receive it (James 1:6-7).

Every Christian in the world believes something about our ability to stop sinning, but the question is, “Do you believe what your Bible says, or have you been deceived into believing something else?”

Why is that important? Because worldly wisdom takes the power out (1 Corinthians 1:17). Imagine listening to sermons for years and nothing is working because there is no power. The only thing needed to turn God’s people from evil is God’s Word in the heart of a believer (Jeremiah 23:22). We got to hear it and believe it.

Believing the scriptures is not optional according to Jesus Christ. Check the verses!

John 5:24
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. NKJV

In order “not to come into judgment” in the end we have to hear the Words of Jesus Christ and believe God. If we will not receive the Words of Jesus Christ, then those very Words will judge us on the last day. Check the verse below.

John 12:48-49
He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. NKJV

When Jesus Christ comes back, He will be known as the “Word of God” and that’s when the millions of Christians of our day will hear the Words of Christ that have been ignored.

Revelation 19:13
19 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. NKJV

We think that we’re getting what we need in church today, but that’s far from the truth. Most if not all denominations today in this country have rejected the doctrines of Jesus Christ written in their own Bibles and I can easily prove it.

Take a look at John 15:6 (below) in your Bible. What’s going to happen to those who do not abide in Jesus according to what Jesus said in that verse?

John 15:6
6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. NKJV

How do we abide in Jesus according to what Jesus said a few verses after that one?

John 15:9-10
9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. NKJV

We have to keep Jesus’ commandments in order to abide in Jesus. Which denomination in this country is preaching that? None of them. They all preach “just get saved and you’re going to Heaven,” but there is no verse that says we are going to Heaven just by getting saved.

Even John 3:16 is conditional. What’s the condition? We have to believe Him, and if no church is preaching John 15:6, then how many churches believe Jesus?

John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. NKJV

However, what would happen if we did believe Jesus Christ in this country and decided to abide in Him by obeying Him? Check the verse below.

1 John 3:6
6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. NKJV

The Word of God tells us that Christians can indeed stop sinning and it gives us specific instructions on how to do it, but which denomination is preaching it? How can Christians stop sinning today when the church at large has rejected part of the message? Do we know better than God?

Not believing God in this lifetime will be most people’s biggest problem on the last day. Check the scriptures below, and decide in your heart if you will believe God, or follow the ways of this world.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. NKJV

All will be condemned who do not believe the truth (verse 12 above). God is going to see to it! Being saved does not mean that we believe. We can be saved and not believe, just like the people of old. Check the verse.

Jude 1:5
5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. NKJV

As you can see by the scripture above, getting saved does not mean that we can ignore scripture. I believe that “Once Saved Always Saved” is probably the lie spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 above, because millions will fight for it and ignore actual scriptures clearly written in their own Bible. May the Lord have mercy on all of us.

Is it possible to stop sinning?

What does the Bible say?

Does the Bible say that Christians can stop sinning? See for yourself, and I will show you many more verses from the New Testament that say that we can.

1 John 5:18
18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. NKJV

1 Peter 4:1-2
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, [2] that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. NKJV

Romans 6:14
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. NKJV

Romans 6:17-18
17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. [18] And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. NKJV

What’s your Testimony about sin

If the Word of God says that we can stop sinning, why do thousands of preachers testify that we can’t stop? How can so many people be wrong? It’s simple, they do not believe God, and so that is their testimony. Therefore, that is what they are receiving (Romans 10:6-8).

Almost all preachers do NOT believe that the same Jesus Christ who died for our sins, will in-turn cast saved Christians out of Heaven for sin, and so they ignore those verses. However, ignoring scripture is the same as ignoring Jesus Christ, Who is the Word made flesh (John 1:14). Check the video.

If you decided to speak in-line with what your Bible actually says, as if you believed God’s Word, then you would be saying the same things I am saying in the video above and on this website. Your version of the Bible may be slightly different, but surely it would not be the exact opposite of what I am telling you, which is what most preach today.

Jesus Christ told the lady caught in adultery to “go and sin no more.”

John 8:11
She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” NKJV

However, what did Jesus mean when He told the man, who was healed at the pool of Bethesda, to “sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you?”

John 5:14
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” NKJV

Obviously, there are methods written in scripture concerning stopping sin in our life-time that millions of Christians in this country are ignoring. Not only do we ignore verses like that, but we clap and cheer on the exact opposite as if to say that the Word of God is not going to come to pass, but it most surely will according to Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:35, 1 Peter 1:25).

The Bible tells those who believe God to recon themselves as dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Who would dare tell God’s people that we cannot stop sinning if they are working for God. Even if most are not unbelievers in this country, then in the least most have lost our salt.

Matthew 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. NKJV

We cannot speak against the faith and be righteous by faith (Romans 6:11). That’s impossible and the inheritance depends on the righteousness of faith (Romans 4:13).

Our words not only have the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21), but they control the course of our bodies and can set our whole life on fire (James 3:5-6).

Proverbs 18:21
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. NKJV

Get this! According to Jesus Christ, whatever scripture that we do not believe will not remain on the inside of us (John 5:38). So if we do not believe the verses written in our own Bibles, those same verses will not remain in us and then it will be very easy for us to speak against them. That’s what millions of well meaning, and unsuspecting Christians today are doing. Never follow the crowd (Matthew 7:13-14).

We have to recon ourselves as dead to sin and alive to God (Romans 6:11-12) as part of the process to stop sin from reigning in our mortal bodies, but we refuse to follow our instructions even in the best of churches today in this country.

Why? Scriptures like that don’t get the crowd going. The bottom line is that if we tell people what they want to hear, then we will have lots of people, which translates into lots of money (2 Timothy 4:3-4). However, those who say Christians cannot stop sinning will never overcome the Devil.

Revelation 12:11
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. NKJV

Do you really Believe God

The problem is very simple. Many Christians today, if not most do not believe their own Bible. They really don’t believe God. Saying “Jesus is Lord” is not fire insurance! We got to believe.

Luke 6:46
46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? NKJV

2 Timothy 2:19
19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” NKJV

Think about this. No one believes what they speak against. Is there anyone left on earth that proclaims “The earth is flat!” Why not? Everyone accepts the evidence that it is round, even though most of us have never been around the world to prove it.

In the same way, there shouldn’t be a Christian left who says that we cannot stop sinning, unless of course they do not believe the evidence found in the their Bible. There’s the problem, they do not believe their Bible, and everyone who does not believe will be condemned. Check the verses below! We must believe the Word of God.

Mark 16:15-16
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. NKJV

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. NKJV

Faith comes by hearing

Not only do we have to believe, but we’ve got to listen to it. We can’t just stop up our ears. According to Jesus Christ, we must hear the Word of God and believe God in order to have eternal life. Know that for yourself and check the verse below.

Jesus always spoke what God wanted Him to speak according to John 12:49-50, and therefore, Jesus Words were always the “Word of God.” That’s why I have said that we must hear the Word of God, and that is also in-line with Deuteronomy 18:18-19. We must hear the Word of God and believe it point, blank, period. There is no other option for those who will make it to Heaven.

John 5:24
24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. NKJV

Why stop sinning?

Why should we stop sinning when we have grace and redemption, the forgiveness of sins? That seems like a good question until you learn all of the verses in the Bible on grace. Then the problem is obvious.

You will need to watch the videos to see what I mean by that, but basically receiving grace now doesn’t guarantee that we will have an inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven. Watch the videos, look the verses up in your version of the Bible, and you will be shocked at just how many scriptures we have ignored.

Verses we never preach about grace picture

“Why Should We Put Our Flesh To Death When We Have Redemption the Forgiveness of Sins?” Watch the video below and learn the scriptures for yourself so that you can answer that question, and then ask yourself why nobody is preaching these verses in this country.

Sanctified by the Spirit

Just like the verses clearly written in any Bible concerning sin have been kept from millions of unsuspecting Christians today, so too have the verses concerning redemption and grace. Yes, we do have redemption the forgiveness of sins, but at the same time we were delivered from the power of darkness, and redeemed from our aimless conduct. Check the verses below!

Colossians 1:13-14
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. NKJV

1 Peter 1:17-19
17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. NKJV

Ask yourself why someone would mention redemption through Jesus’ blood, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14 above) and never mention that we have been delivered from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13), and that we have been redeemed from our former conduct by that same blood in keeping with 1 Peter 1:17-19, above?

As many of times that we hear one, we should also hear the others, but we’re not hearing the verses that we don’t like to hear today in keeping with 2 Timothy 4:3-4. Those verses don’t build the crowd. They don’t make people hit the like button, or raise funds, and so we don’t preach them.

Imagine what would happen if you only heard redemption being explained as the forgiveness of sins for the past twenty years that you’ve been attending church. If some nobody like me comes along and mentions 1:Peter 1:17-19 (above), you would immediately reject it, and that is exactly what is happening in this country today.

In the same way, most Christians don’t realize that those who commit certain sins, known as “sins that lead to death,” have no inheritance. In other words, they will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Check the verse below!

Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 John 5:16-17
16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. 17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death. NKJV

James 5:19-20
19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. NKJV

What is Sin that leads to death?

According to the Word of God, there is sin that will lead to death and sin that does not lead to death (1 John 5:16-17, above). If a Brother wanders from the truth, which is the Word of God (John 17:17), then he is in danger of losing his soul according to James 5:19-20 above. That is certainly one sin that will lead to death, and Galatians 5:19-21 above describes many more sins that will prevent those who practice them from inheriting the Kingdom.

Those who preach “Once Saved Always Saved” preach in direct opposition to these verses, as well as many other verses, and that’s why they cannot see them. Their words are in direct opposition to the Word of God, and so they do not believe God. Therefore, they will unsuspectingly come into judgment (John 5:24).

Here is the biggest thing of all. Now that you have seen these verses, what are you going to do about it? Are you just going to ignore that they exist, like everybody else so that you will fit back into the crowd? If so, you may never have an opportunity to hear them again. Nobody is preaching them.

That’s what is meant by being blind. Just by speaking against the faith, we can fall away from the faith (1 Timothy 6:20-21), even to the point of being past feeling (Ephesians 4:17-19). I have talked with many preachers who literally cannot see these verses.

Even if they read them, they still would not be able to see what they say, because they have spent years preaching in opposition to them. In most cases, they have no idea that these verses even exist and so they preach the verses that they can see with confidence, believing that anything else beyond what they know has to be wrong. They have no idea that they have been taken captive by the devil to do his will. Check the verse.

2 Timothy 2:24-26
24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. NKJV

The video above will help you understand how this all fits together (redemption, grace, righteousness, inheritance, sin, etc) and reveal to you the verses that are never preach today concerning grace, holiness, and righteousness.
