God’s Word is Enough to Turn Believers From Evil

THE WORD IS ENOUGH TO TURN GOD’S PEOPLE FROM EVIL

Most Christians do not realize the power contained in the Word of God. It is able to turn God’s people from evil all by itself. Watch the video and learn those verses for yourself.

Jeremiah 23:22
22 But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings. NKJV

The Word of God works just like it is written on the inside of those who believe it (1 Thessalonians 2:13). In other words, we can stop sinning just by hearing and believing the Word of God. However, a little human wisdom mixed in and a little philosophy on top of that and don’t be shocked if things don’t work out like they are promised.

That’s one of the biggest reasons why the methods I will show you are not well known and widely used amongst church people today. We look to home remedies and old wives tales long before we look to the Word of God. That’s called idolatry. After everything else fails, that’s when we seek God.

If you are a believer, then just believe the Word of God like it is written and put it into practice. You do not need anything else, not a single thing. God doesn’t need any of us to add to His Word. We’re not suppose to even to think beyond what is written (1 Corinthians 4:6 below).

It works without adding to it or taking away from it

Listen to the following verse again, and then ask yourself if the Word of God is enough to turn God’s people from evil?

Jeremiah 23:22
22 But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings. NKJV

God’s Word alone will turn God’s people from evil according to that passage of scripture. However, most of us aren’t satisfied with that, so we add our human wisdom to it, which takes away from the power already contained in the Word (1 Corinthians 1:17). My friend, we don’t need anything else. God will honor His Word and provide us with everything we need for this life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4).

Think about it. God could see our whole life before the Bible was even written and that is the only thing He left for us to live by.

I had an unbeliever tell me that the Bible came through Catholics, and so that’s why he doesn’t believe it I don’t know how God got it to me, that was His business. I just believe every Word of it, without adding anything to it, or taking anything away from it.

Proverbs 30:5-6
5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. 6 Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar. NKJV

Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; [19] and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. NKJV

1 Corinthians 4:6
6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. NKJV

I’m here to tell you that my 1982 New King James Bible works just like it is written without adding one single thing to it, or taking anything away from it. Praise God. If your version of the Bible doesn’t work, perhaps you should switch.

I started with a Bible called “the Book,” which wasn’t even a Bible at that time, but my heart was set on trusting God above man, and so God changed my Bible, and He can change yours (Philippians 3:15-16).

I’m trusting in God to do what He has promised, as I have seen Him do it, time and time again. All I am asking you to do is to believe the verses that I will show you, and learn them from your own version of the Bible. God will reward you if you diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Refusing to abide in the Word

Knowing the truth sets Christians free from being a slave to sin according to the Word of the Lord written in John 8:31-36 (below). Therefore, we are instructed to remain (abide) in the Word until we are set free.

John 8:31-36
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. NKJV

Whoever commits sin is a slave to sin (verse 34 above). That’s how sin gets to control us (Romans 6:16) for our destruction (Galatians 6:7-8).

If it is our intention to remain in the Word until we know the truth, as requested by John 8:31-32 above, Then the Lord will know it since He still searches minds and hearts (1 Chronicles 28:9, Revelation 2:23), and so will He not help us do what He wants us to do, and begin to deliver us from temptations (2 Peter 2:9).

Think of it this way. We will be doing what He wants us to do.

Luke 6:46 NKJV
46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? NKJV

He wants us to be sanctified and cleansed with the washing of water by the Word, and sanctified by the Truth; the Word of God.

Ephesians 5:26
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, NKJV

John 17:17
17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. NKJV

However, if we do not think it worth while to retain the knowledge of God, then God will give us over to a depraved mind, which will lead us right back into sin and the ways of the world.

Romans 1:28-32
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. NKJV

Yes, God will take away every branch in Christ that does not bear fruit (John 15:2).

John 15:2
2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. NKJV

Therefore, think about this. If a Christian will not live by faith in Jesus Christ, abiding in the Word, then he will eventually return to the ways of the world, since it’s just a matter of time before he is cut off and given over because he refuses to abide (remain) in the Word. There is no plateau in the Christian life that we may stop the process.

Being a Christian is not something we try. It’s something we do. We deny ourselves, and follow Jesus (Matthew 16:24-25). Most problems concerning scripture arises from people who do not want to follow Jesus and abide in the Word of God. They just want to live like they want to live and go to Heaven when they die.

The problem with that is if we live according to our flesh, we will die. So, the only real choice we have is to abide in Jesus, which means that we will obey His commands, and bear fruit.

Romans 8:12-13
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. NKJV

We cannot bear fruit without abiding in Jesus (John 15:5). We think we can, but we’re doing it in the flesh. The only way to abide in Jesus Christ is to obey His commands (John 15:9-10). So, Christians who do not obey Jesus, think they are bearing fruit the right way, but they are not.

John 15:5
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. NKJV

Some might argue that they feed the homeless, and whatever else, and that is evidence of bearing fruit, but the question is not “IF” you feed the homeless, but are you feeding the homeless in the flesh?

When Christians, who are in the flesh, participate in righteous acts, such as feeding the homeless, their flesh will make them violate Matthew 6:1-3, and so they will have no reward in Heaven.

Matthew 6:1-4
1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. [2] Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. [3] But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, [4] that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. NKJV

Everybody feeds the homeless in this country since we all pay taxes, which are used to provide government assistance to the poor, but not everyone is storing up treasures in Heaven because they make sure they receive their rewards here on earth, or they sow begrudgingly; hating it in their heart (1 John 5:3) without a willing mind (2 Corinthians 8:12).

How many well meaning Christians speak against people receiving government assistance because of corruption? How many of them would speak against it after knowing the scriptures?

Matthew 24:12-13
12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. NKJV

There will always be corruption in the world until the end, but our response toward that corruption should aways be in-line with scripture. The only thing that makes this country great is that we still help the poor and needy.

That is the only reason we are superior to other nations and not already delivered into the hands of those who hate us (Psalm 41:1-3). Never loose site of that, and when it stops, know for sure that we will be overtaken regardless of how strong we may appear.

No weapon, no army, no wall, and no amount of money will ever stop spiritual principles. Even if we destroyed our enemies and there were only wounded men left, then those wounded men would rise and overtake this country if the Lord has decreed it (Jeremiah 37:9-10). It’s the Word of the Lord that will come to pass.

If we continue in our faith we remain holy in God’s sight (Colossians 1:21-23), and faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). If we do not continue in our faith, we will be cut off.

Romans 11:22
22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. NKJV

A lot of Christians, who believe they have addictions and such, have actually been given over by God because they did not think it worth their time to retain the knowledge of God. They may have read some of the Bible, but they don’t see the value in “abiding” (remaining) in the Word.

The solution? Repent and accept godly instructions straight from the Word of God. Think about it. If it is knowing the truth that sets us free from being a slave to sin (John 8:31-36), and we are not free, can we possibly know the truth?
