Why Christians cannot stop sinning

Why Christians cannot stop sinning, by Alan Ballou

God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, and not because God cannot protect us from the devil (Hosea 4:6). In fact, God has absolutely no problem whatsoever with protecting us, but it is our sins that give us over. Check the verses below.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. NKJV

1 John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. NKJV

Our sins also keep us from receiving the good that God has planned for us. Check the verse.

Jeremiah 5:25 Your iniquities have turned these things away, And your sins have withheld good from you. NKJV

If all we ever learn is that God loves us so much, and that He has good plans for each of us, then we will certainly be missing out on a whole lot while we’re waiting on God. That’s why it is so important to live by “every Word of God,” and not just the verses we like to hear (Matthew 4:4, Deuteronomy 8:3).

God is waiting on us! God’s Word says that He has already given us “everything we need for life and godliness.”

2 Peter 1:3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, NKJV

If everything we need has already been given to us, why don’t we have everything we need? Sounds crazy, but the reason we do not have what God has “already given us” according to 2 Peter 1:3 above, is also written in that same verse. It comes “through the knowledge of Him.”

Like I said, God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6), and the world we live in has kept us so busy, that we don’t have much time to grow in our knowledge of Him. However, imagine how much protection we miss out on, and how many blessings we forfeit, just because we do not take the time to learn what is in our Bibles.

Even in church services today, we are more than likely to hear what the world is up to, rather than the spiritual principles that we so desperately need to live by. We have to make time for God, and deny our own desires (Matthew 16:24-25, John 12:25-26).

The video above is #3 in a series of videos about “How To Stop Sinning.” Lord willing, there are about 25 more to come. Why so many? There isn’t any one magic switch, but there are numerous spiritual principles written in our Bibles that each of us needs to know ASAP. To watch the first two videos, click here, or click the “Home” button in the menu above.

I am making these videos to help God’s people, who believe. Lord willing, I will continue to make them until I have covered every verse that I can think of that we need to use in order to stop sin from ruining our lives.

In the video above, allow the verses to speak to you. Believe what they are telling you, and then put them into practice. If you have any questions, please contact me. However, if you do not believe the Word of God, like it is written, please do not allow me to waste your time. Thank you.

I’m Alan Ballou; a servant (1 Peter 4:10).

  1. Just because we have the power to live a new life, it doesn’t mean that we are doing it, or ever will do it. What you are saying is Romans 6:1-4 (“we should walk in newness of life”), and Romans 8:13 (by the Spirit we put to death the deeds of the flesh). There are millions of Christians today, who are living with addictions because they don’t know anything beyond what you are saying.
I’m teaching “How To Stop Sinning.” I have never heard a preacher, preach beyond Romans 6:4, just like you are doing, and most go straight to verse 23 after mentioning what you mentioned. That’s type preaching is not working today, and it is one of the biggest problems in the church.
I would ask you to watch the video again and learn Romans 6:11-22. I’m not teaching that “we should stop sinning,” but I am teaching “how to do it” according to the Word of God.
The Lord has taught me, and those who have not heard or rejected His Word will understand (Romans 15:21). Take care.

  2. Once we are born of the spirit and of water, we are washed by the water of baptism, and then the power of sin has no longer dominion over us. Then we have the resurrected power of the holy ghost dwelling in us, and leading us day by day. if we yeild to that power and spirit, it is gentle. the holy spirit will not allow us to remain in sin., we still make mistakes , but they will work out with God.
